Ronald W. Murdoff, 71, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, January 25, 2016, at Sanford Health in Fargo. Ronald Wilfred Murdoff was born February 18, 1944 in Fargo, ND, the son of Wilfred and Florence (Wade) Murdoff. He was raised in West Fargo and graduated from West Fargo High. Ron then attended college in Minneapolis, returned to Fargo and worked for Silverline Boats, Mhd. Ron married Charlene Kaatz in Enderlin, ND, on Dec. 10, 1966. After graduating from Dakota Business College in Fargo in 1969, they moved to California. He was employed in the fiberglass business prior to returning to North Dakota in 1975. The family made their home in Kindred, ND for sixteen years. Ron worked at Steiger Tractor in Fargo and then at various tire dealerships until his retirement. Ron was an accomplished bowler receiving many trophies and awards and an avid golfer. After becoming disabled, his hobby became model railroading . Ron assembled and built a large model railroad, spending many hours searching and obtaining the pieces needed. Surviving are his wife: Charlene, of Fargo; daughter: Stacy Murdoff of Loveland, CO; son: Ryan Murdoff of Brownsville, OR; a sister: Geraldine Knutson of Menifee, CA; brother-in-law: Joseph Braunagel of Chaseley, ND; sister- in- law: Robin Carlson of Kenmare, ND; nephews: Michael and Steven Knutson, Justin, Jesse and Joshua Braunagel; nieces: Mary (Kevin) Magarian of West Fargo; Gayle Mickelson, Brenda and Karen Knutson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Joyce Braunagel and Phyllis Murdoff: brothers-in-law: Dennis Kaatz and Walt Knutson. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2016 at West Funeral Home in West Fargo. Visitation: An hour prior to the service. Burial: Watson Cemetery, rural Leonard, ND West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center westfuneralhome.com
