Devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Ronald Eugene “Ronnie” Patat, 68, joined his Lord and Savior in heaven on November 1, 2025.
Mr. Patat was born on March 28, 1957, in Perry, Georgia, to the late Charlie E. and Nita Watson Patat. He spent his entire life in the Bonaire community and graduated from Warner Robins High School. A faithful follower of Christ, Mr. Patat was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church. Through the years, he had served as a Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, youth leader, and grounds keeper. He was extremely knowledgeable about the Bible and made it a priority to make sure the people he loved had a relationship with the Lord. In past years, he and his mother would travel around the region attending gospel music concerts every Friday and Saturday night.
Mr. Patat was known for his mechanical skills. He loved working on cars and was always ready to help others with their repairs. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and taught his children to be independent thinkers. He loved to spend time with all his grandchildren and was super proud of his oldest grandsons—Cody is serving in the United States Army and Jesse has his grandfather’s passion for auto mechanics.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Patat was preceded in death by his beloved wife of thirty-two years, Carla English Patat; siblings, Charlie Patat, Jr., Virgil Patat, Ricky Patat, Nancy Patat, and Sonny Patat.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Christine P. Gilley (Andy), of Bonaire, and Justin R. Patat of Cordele; his grandchildren, Cody J. Farmer (Macie), Jesse L. Farmer (Sierra), Addilyn Gilley, and Bryson Gilley; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Waylon, Wesley, Raelyn, and Nevaeh; brother, Phillip Patat (Sarah); and a host of other extended family members and friends.
Visitation with Mr. Patat’s family will be Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Donny Melton and Reverend Jim Lane officiating. Following the service, Mr. Patat will be laid to rest next to his wife in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Ronnie Patat to Calvary Baptist Church, 351 Georgia Highway 96, Bonaire, Georgia 31005.
