Ronald Floyd Pirkle, age 84, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 4, 2025.
Ronald proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964, where he was honorably discharged. His time in service reflected his lifelong values of dedication, courage, and integrity. He was retired from Bowater as a pipefitter where he worked for many years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Nancy Carole Pirkle; his parents, Kathleen Pearl "Sweet" Tummins Pirkle and Ward E. Pirkle; and his brothers, James "Jim" (Bryanna Lynne Dunn Pirkle) and John Ward Pirkle.
Ronald is survived by his sons, Ronald Greg Pirkle and Phillip Gary Pirkle; stepchildren, Jesse (Stacy) Dalton and Jennifer (Tyler) Beard; grandchildren, Lakota (Brandon) Pierce, Shakori (Matt) Cardin, and Jack Beard; great-grandchild, Levi Pierce; and sister-in-law Manya Pirkle.
The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday November 1, 2025 at 10:00 am at Benton Memorial Gardens.
Ronald will be remembered for his steadfast spirit, his love for family, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the town of Benton for the kindness and generosity shown to Ronnie in his final days. Your support allowed him to spend his remaining time in the place he loved and proudly called home.
