Ronald Dwain Potter Jr., age 46 of Salem, passed away on June 6, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Illinois.
Ron Jr. was born on April 25, 1979, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Ronald Potter Sr. and Donna Kaye (Watson) Garrison.
Survivors include his father, Ronald Potter Sr. and wife Audrey of Salem; mother, Donna Garrison of Salem; son, Payton Potter of Salem; brother, Ryan Potter and wife Sara of Salem; sister, Pamela Holsapple and husband Jarrod of Salem; grandmother, Dorothy Huff of Salem; and nieces and nephews, Alex Potter, Zack Potter, Lucas Potter, Drayton Potter, Colton Holsapple, and Liliana Holsapple.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jennifer Potter, and grandparents, Berle and Shirley Potter, and Roger Watson Sr.
Ron Jr. was an avid Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He loved to work on and ride motorcycles. He was employed at Merz Vault Company in Salem.
Graveside services for Ronald Dwain Potter Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Elder Cemetery in Kinmundy with Jim Chapman officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the family and will be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
