Ronald "Ron" Matthew Baumann

Ronald 'Ron' Matthew Baumann, age 61, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2023 at his home in Kennett Square, PA. Ron will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and as an eccentric leader in the gaming industry. For those of us who knew him best, his dedication and passion for his work was next-to-none, and he brought energy and charisma to the workplace up to his very last days. As a father, he demanded the best of us, making each one of us earn our chosen pathway in life, holding us accountable while supporting us with love on our journeys.

Ron grew up with his three brothers (Jeffrey, Joseph, and Christopher) in Piscataway, NJ, raised by his parents Gwen and Joseph Baumann. Ron and his brothers were well-known as notorious troublemakers, frequently telling countless stories of causing ruckus as kids; whether it be losing his shoes as he ran out of school or parking his car in the middle of the Stelton Road, they always had to weasel their way out of trouble with their parents. As time went on, Ron grew up and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and later in his career graduated with a Masters in Business Administration from Villanova University. While the bulk of his life was spent in the Atlantic City area, Ron also spent time in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Sydney, Australia.

Ron's passion and commitment to his work in the gaming industry was well-known throughout the community for nearly 40 years. Starting out as a Food and Beverage manager at the Golden Nugget, Ron worked his way up the career ladder in the gaming industry through hard work, passion, and original ideas for the jobs he held. Whether it be the capstone projects he led, his repertoire with customers, or his reputation as a charismatic and demanding leader; many thought very highly of Ron's contributions to the legacy that he left in Atlantic City and throughout casinos and hotels worldwide. A few of the accomplishments Ron was the most proud of over the years were the opening of the waterfront tower at Harrah's AC, designing and opening of the House of Blues at Showboat, the rebranding of Harrah's Philadelphia, and starting his own gaming consulting firm. Most importantly, he was proud of the people that he led, and especially when he was able to inspire someone to excel in their career path.

Ron is predeceased by his father, Joseph Baumann, and his mother, Gwen Baumann, also lovingly known as Nana B. Ron is survived by his wife, Aliona; his three children; Michael and his wife Susanna, Douglas, and Danielle and her fianc? Brandon. Ron, or better known to them as Poppy, is also survived by his three grandchildren, Addison, Alexander, and Maxwell who always loved his playful side when wrestling him. Ron is also survived by his three brothers and their partners, Jeffrey and Karen; Joseph and Karl; and Christopher and Phyllis Ann.

Ron will always be remembered as a dedicated executive and inspiring leader, with an insurmountable strive for excellence in his work. For those of us who were close to him, we will always remember his unforgettable quirky sense of humor; his endless love for David Bowie's music; his commitment to the Raiders learning to win again; his love affair with white wines, the fun times at sporting events and concerts of all types with family and friends; and his epic sunday gravy.

A private celebration of life for those who Ron knew and loved will be hosted at a later date and invitations will be distributed at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Raiders draft team in Ron's name is greatly appreciated.
