Ronald "Jeff" Jeffery Schilffarth

April 30th, 1966 – September 8th, 2025

Born on April 30th, 1966, in Florence, KY, Jeff lived a life full of laughter, love, intelligence, and purpose.

For 36 years, Jeff was the devoted husband of Connie Schilffarth, and together they built a life anchored in love and family. He was the proud father of Ashley and Trey Schilffarth, and nothing brought him more joy than being "Dad."

He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Gloria and Ted Bushelman, his in-laws, Alton John "Kayo" and Betty Schneider; and his stepbrother, TJ Bushelman.

He is also survived by his father and stepmother, Ron and Suzanne Schilffarth; his brothers, Steve Schilffarth and Chris Bushelman; and his stepsister, Kimberly Bushelman.

Jeff built a long and respected career in telecommunications and sales, working for over 30 years in a field where his intelligence, charisma, and people skills shined. Beyond his professional life, he gave generously of his time to causes close to his heart. He served on the board of directors for Kosair for Kids, contributed to his community as a member of the Freemasons, was a Shriner, and shared fellowship and humor as part of the Royal Order of Jesters. In his younger years, Jeff played defensive tackle at the University of Kentucky under legendary head coach, Jerry Claiborne, carrying his love of football with him for the rest of his life.

To know Jeff was to know joy. He greeted everyone with a warm smile that instantly made people feel welcome. He was jovial, stubborn in the best way, endlessly caring, and quick with a joke. He loved the simple pleasures: a good bourbon, a great movie, the latest gadget, a silly TikTok, the sound of bluegrass music, and, above all, the company of his family and friends. His favorite saying, "Do right, do your best, and you'll be a winner," was more than a motto. It was the way he lived and the example he set for others.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, intelligence, and resilience. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Highlands Funeral Home (3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY 40205) on Wednesday, September 24th, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET. The funeral service will follow at Highlands Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25th, at 10:00 a.m. Friends and loved ones are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Kosair for Kids, an organization close to Jeff's heart.
