Ronald K Vaughan Sr, age 71, of Surgoinsville, passed away on February 5, 2025 at Bristol Select Specialty Hospital.
Ronald was born to Kermit and Inge Vaughan September 21, 1953. He went to school at Rogersville High School. He married Scarlett Ann Vaughan on February 14, 1998 at Fishers Creek Church. He retired from TRW after 35 years, and drove for Tri-State Sand for 10 years. He was one of the founding members of Stanley Valley Fire Department, and then served Chief for 5 years. Ronald sang for the Master's Quartet for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, riding his Harley, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Blackwater Union Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Inge Vaughan; daughter, Tamara Danielle Vaughan; daughter-in-law, Anna Vaughan; mother-in-law, Betty Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, Scarlett Vaughan; sister, Donna Vaughan; sons, Kenny Vaughan and Matthew (Dori) Vaughan; step-daughter, Christy Kilgore; grandchildren, Megan (Scott) Messenger, Cheyenne Kilgore, Katelyn Vaughan, Destiny Lee, Braedan Bailey, Jace Hood; great-grandchildren, Clayton McMurray, Luca Arrieta, Olli Vaughan.
The family of Ronald wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Blackwater Union Baptist Church, Pastor Thomas Rogers and wife Geraldine, Pastor Jay Davidson, Preacher Jim Short and wife Donna, The Cancer Center of Kingsport, University of Tennessee, and Select Specialty Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cancer Society.
