Ronald Hubert Gibson, 74, passed Monday, November 18, 2024 at his home.
He was born March 28, 1950, in Jonesboro to the late J.D. and Maxine Asbill Gibson. Ronnie graduated in 1968 from Bay High School where he played sports and participated in FFA. He began helping on the family farm at a very young age. After high school, he was interested in pursuing farming but instead chose the HVAC profession working at Arc Electric for the late Orval (Mac) McKisson. Around 1981, Ronnie joined RGB Mechanical under the late Ralph Brasher leading the sheet metal division. He had a passion for deer hunting, clearing land, planting food plots and creating deer stands on his hunting ground. He could recount an abundance of deer hunting stories involving friends and family who spent time with him at his cabin.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Loggins Gibson, and dog Molly Ann of the home; son Joe Gibson, his wife Stephanie of Jonesboro; son David Gibson of Jonesboro, his daughter, Taelor; Daughter,Jamie Gibson Griffin, her husband Kevin and children, Noah ( Kathleen), Mason (Jennifer), Anna Grace Griffin Spann (Caleb), and Max, all of Jonesboro; a sister, Mary Gibson of Lake City; a brother, Terry Gibson of Jonesboro; two sisters-in-law, Karalee Gibson of Lake City and Alma Gibson of Carmel, Indiana. Ronnie was the very proud grandfather of Ty and the great-grandfather of Henry, Hazel, Oliver, Baby Griffin #4, Everleigh and Lydia.
He was preceded in death by brothers L.D. Gibson, Larry Gibson and sisters Shirley Gibson and Deloros Gibson.
Family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 22, at Family Fellowship Baptist Church in the family life center. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
Services were entrusted to Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
