Ronnie Edward Green, lovingly known as 'Boogie', was the youngest of eight children born to Lonnie & Mittie Green. He was born on August 24th, 1954. He transitioned unexpectedly on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, at his home.
Ronnie attended Martin County Schools and remained in the area until his untimely passing. He worked at West Point-Pepperell in the dye department for about 18 years. He worked at JD Convenience Store in Hamilton, NC as a store clerk. JD was popular because 'Boogie' was there. He hosted pool tournaments for the locals and never turned down a chance to enjoy an ice cold Coors Light with his buddies that stopped by.
Ronnie lived his life to the fullest. On his terms and at his pace. 'Boogie' lived unapologetically and had no hesitations about it. When he wasn't fishing or watching a Nascar race, he was working on his pride and joy: the Chevelle. Ronnie loved vintage cars and attended countless vintage cars shows in the area.
Ronnie was preceded in death by two siblings, Vivian Green Benjamin and Gene Gilbert Green.
He leaves behind two children: Ronnie Whitley of Scotland Neck, NC and Robin Johnson (Rodney) of Hamilton, NC. One stepdaughter Chikita Powell of Durham, NC. One brother, Willie Green of Brooklyn, NY. Four sisters: Halice Yarbrough of Hamilton, NC., Mary Blanche Greene of Raleigh, NC, Rosa Parker of Hamilton, NC, and Alfretia Parmele of Hamilton, NC. One grandson, Treyvon Amari Johnson of Hamilton, NC. Three granddaughters: Sasha Whitley, Malia Whitley, and Sandra Whitley of Scotland Neck, NC. Two step granddaughters Adrianna Powell and Yolanda Bridges of Durham, NC. His caretaker and niece Patricia Green Morring of Hamilton, NC. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish each, and every special moment spent with him.
