Alan Green Obituary
Alan Maurice Green, 51, of White River Junction, Vermont, passed away from cancer on October 22, 2025. Alan was a caring and creative storyteller who loved sharing his worlds with his family and friends. Alan started playing Dungeons & Dragons at age ten. He most often played with his best friend, Lars Arneson, and ran games for his wife, Amelia Kahl, during both her maternity leaves, with infants in tow. Alan's other passion was LARPing (Live Action Role Play). He joined his first game in 1991, and this culminated in running his own game, Fealty, from 2021 to 2025. Alan was very active in fannish circles where he welcomed new players, shared stories, told jokes, and worked to create cool experiences for all.
Alan loved music and was especially passionate about the Beatles and Nirvana. He shared a deep love of the Beatles and the Star Wars universe with his mother and loved passing that down to his daughters, Eleanor and Ginevra.
Flying was another interest of Alan's. He earned his pilot's license at age twenty as part of the New Hampshire Civil Air Patrol. Later, he worked as a Flight Follower at Wiggins Air in Manchester, New Hampshire. Alan was always quick to share a fun fact whether about an airplane, the Vietnam War, music, LARPing, or D&D.
Alan Maurice Green was born August 26, 1974, in Manchester, New Hampshire, to Howard and Pauline (Dubois) Green. He graduated from Manchester School of Technology in 1994, having attended Manchester Memorial High School. He took classes at Manchester Community College toward a degree in US History while caring for his first child, Eleanor, as a baby. Alan worked in the aviation and hotel industries before his job as a load builder at Irving Energy, where he truly enjoyed his coworkers and the chance to flex his logistical skills.
Alan is survived by his wife, Amelia Kahl; daughters, Eleanor Kahl-Green and Ginevra Kahl-Green; mother, Pauline (Dubois) Green; brother, Kevin Green; sister-in-law, Heather (Doiron) Green; and niece, Isabelle Green.
A loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Alan will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and big personality. His openness and empathy were an inspiration, and he will be deeply missed.
