Ronnie W. Jackson, age 80 of Oliver Springs passed away at his home on August 3, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. Ronnie was born on November 17, 1943 in Coalfield to Clay and Armilda Jackson.
Ronnie graduated from Coalfield High School.
He was a member of Batley Baptist Church but most recently attended Frost Bottom Baptist Church. He loved going to church and was disappointed when his health declined and was unable to attend.
After high school he and his wife Chris moved to the Atlanta area where he began his career in Heating & Air. He started his own HVAC company with a man that would become his dear friend, Herman Henderson. He lived there for 27 years where he raised his family.
In 1992 the family moved back to Oliver Springs where he worked at City Heating & Air until his retirement.
He loved different forms of racing, especially NASCAR, and even raced go-carts in his younger days. He was a big Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed working in his garden and restoring cars. He was a do-it-yourselfer and could do just about anything.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Chris and his parents, Clay and Armilda Jackson, his sister-in-law Norma Meredith Ward, brother-in-law Winston Meredith.
He is survived by his daughters: Rhonda Butler and husband Chuck of Oliver Springs and Kristie Sims and husband Greg of Oliver Springs. His beloved grandsons, Dalton and Jackson Sims of Kingston.
