Ronnie Wayne Mann

Ronald Wayne Mann, 75, of Locust, NC, died Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, NC.
Ronnie as he was called, was born in Nashville, TN, on April 20, 1949, the son of Bill and Dorothy Rowlette Mann. His family moved from Nashville to Cary, NC. Upon graduating from high school, he answered his country's call to service in the United States Navy, serving in both Vietnam and the Philippines.
Upon his honorable discharge, Ronnie returned to North Carolina and moved to the Charlotte area. In 1978, he met Ms. Sandra Hinson whom he went on to marry in 1979 during a snowstorm at her parents home on Providence Road in Charlotte. They continued to live in Charlotte until about 6 years ago when they moved to Locust.
Ronnie worked for Interstate Brands,.Merita Bakery as a distribution driver for about 18 years. He then went on to his "fun job" as he called it at Mint Hill Park. There he worked security and enjoyed visiting with people and making sure the dogs got a treat. Ronnie did that through October of 2023 when he finally stopped working.
When not working, Ronnie loved to spend time outdoors. Whether gardening or sitting on the patio, he enjoyed the outdoors. Continuing the legacy of service he began in the Navy, he would volunteer at the VA Clinics to help his fellow soldiers.
Most of all, Ronnie enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Sandra, of Locust; his son Justin (wife Crystal) Mann of Gastonia and their children: Mackenzie and Mason; and his brother, Kenny Mann of Midland, NC; and the family of his wife who he treated as his own. Ronnie is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronnie's family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and for them. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 28, beginning at 10 AM. At 11 AM, all present will join in the funeral home chapel for a service led by Father Peter Pham of St John Neumann Catholic Church. Following the service, a reception will be held at the funeral home with light refreshments. All services will conclude at the funeral home.
