Ronnie Shatterly Obituary
James Ronald "Ronnie" Shatterly, 75 of Rutledge, passed away on January 23, 2024. Ronnie was a native of Morgan County. He was born to Gurney Rex Shatterly and Mattie Estelle Wilson Shatterly on March 9, 1948 in Madison. Ronnie joined the US Army after high school and served in Vietnam. Later, he began his career as a meat market manager and retired after 33 years of service to Doster's in Covington. He was married to Miriam Cofer and made their home in Rutledge where they raised two children. Ronnie enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a generous man, always willing to help others. He was a humble man, never looking for attention. He loved Jesus and was a devoted member of Brownwood Baptist Church. He was a testimony of Christ to many by the way he lived his life and in the way that he loved and treated others. His family will remember him as an example of unconditional love.
Ronnie Shatterly is survived by his wife, Miriam and his children, April Jackson (Ben) and Josh Shatterly (Tera). His grandchildren are Bradly, Olivia, Tanner, Paisley, Lexie and Harris. Ronnie also leaves siblings, Betty Mullins, Jean Washum, Tommie Shatterly, Norma Shatterly, Don Shatterly, Kittie Mayfield and Connie Malone.
The family of Ronnie Shatterly will receive friends at A.E. Carter Funeral Home on Saturday, January 27 from 5-7 PM. The funeral service will be held at Brownwood Baptist Church on Sunday, January 28 at 2 PM.
