James Sammy Shatterly

James Sammy Shatterly, 79, of Burlington, NC passed away at Duke University Medical Center on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of the late Ellen Jane Rogers Shatterly and the son of James William Shatterly and Cleo Geneva Smith Shatterly, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired from the Maintenance Department at Twin Lakes Community after 29 years of service. James was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Gina Shatterly (Denise); son, James Robert "Robbie" Shatterly (Jennifer Kamenides); grandchildren, Jonathon Shatterly and Kristie Boone (Dillon); great grandchildren, Alaina, Henry, and Wilson; and special friends, Johnny Marley, Theresa Kellam, and Kaley and Mason Kamenides.

The funeral service will be conducted at Shiloh Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery. The service will be shown live on Shiloh Presbyterian Church's Facebook page.
