In loving memory of Ronnie Dean Sila, who peacefully returned home to the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the age of 73.
Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of memories, including moments of connection and shared experiences, which will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by four children, Mark, Kim, Tracy, and Niki. Ronnie found immeasurable joy in the laughter and happiness of his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Not to be forgotten is Sophie the cat, who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his siblings, Vern, Jack, Jerry, Dale, Saundra, and Holly.
Born on November 22, 1951, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Mildred and Holly Sila, Ronnie was one of five brothers known for their mischievous antics and the camaraderie they shared, despite life's twists and turns. He attended North High School of Omaha, where he showcased his talent as a baseball player and cultivated lifelong friendships.
Following his education, Ronnie married his beloved Mary and embarked on a journey together that lasted 52 years until Mary's sudden passing. Settling in Kansas City, he began his career at Snap-On Tools, where he demonstrated his dedication and work ethic. Upon retiring, Ronnie and Mary relocated to Stockton, Missouri, where they embraced the tranquility of lake life. Every morning, they'd dive into a lively game of cribbage, a testament to their tight bond and playful rivalry.
Ronnie's passions were as varied as they were numerous. From golfing and fishing to woodworking and grilling, he found joy in every moment spent pursuing his interests. His mancave was a sanctuary where he embarked on creative projects, from crafting fishing lures to designing furniture.
He enjoyed his solitude, yet when he invited others in, his mischievous humor would light the room, creating memorable moments shared with loved ones. His generosity knew no bounds, whether in his charitable contributions to causes he held dear or in the handmade items he lovingly crafted for fundraisers, family, friends, and neighbors.
As we bid farewell to Ronnie, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in our hearts forever. In honor of his memory, a celebration of life will be held on June 15, 2024, at The Sociable Inn in Omaha, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Missouri Pit Bull Rescue in Ronnie's name would be deeply appreciated, continuing his legacy of compassion, kindness, and love for his grand-pup Stella. www.mopitbullrescue.org/donate
In Ronnie's passing, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and the enduring impact he had on all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he find eternal peace, his spirit cherished and forever remembered with love.
