Ronnie Kenneth Spencer, 74, passed away peacefully at his Seymour home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born in Seymour on July 15, 1950 to the late Henry Edison and Audrey Marjorie (Satterwhite) Spencer.
As a young man, Ronnie was an Eagle Scout and in the leadership group Demolay International, graduating from Seymour High School in 1968. He went on to graduate from Ivy Tech where he obtained his Licensed Practical Nurse training and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. This led to a career as the factory nurse for Aisin for 15 years until his retirement. Ronnie was a volunteer firefighter with Jackson, Washington, and Vernon Townships, a paramedic with Jackson County EMS, and a 30-year member of the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Vernon Township Fire Department. Ronnie was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association and love to hunt deer, deep sea fishing in the Gulf of America, and spelunking in local caves. He was a member of Abate Motorcycle Club. Ronnie served as an elder at Seymour Christian Church for 32 years and was a current member of Calvary Baptist Church. He had a heart for missions, many in the Dominican Republic, and was a faithful supporter of Samaritan's Purse. But more than anything, Ronnie will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, whose greatest joy in life was joining his grandchildren at school and sporting events. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Left behind to cherish Ronnie's memory are his beloved wife, Pamela Rae (Fleetwood) Spencer; children, Karen Elaine (Chad) Browning, Jason Eric Spencer, Dana Jo Nowland, and Benjamin Isaac Spencer; grandchildren, Brayden, Mattie, Danika, Alice, Ellie, Isaac, and Rosella; his sister, Marjorie (Melvin) Bishop; brother, Dennis (Sharon) Spencer; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Kay (Akers) Spencer; his parents, listed above; infant daughter, Angie Kay Spencer; son-in-law, Bill Nowland; and nephew, Brian Darlage.
