With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronnie Strasser Sr., who departed this life on June 26, 2025, in Watauga, Texas, at the age of 66.

Ronnie was born on May 15, 1959, in Kitzingen, Germany, and moved to the United States during early childhood. He was formerly a longtime resident of Royse City and Haltom City, Texas, and most recently resided in Watauga.

Preceded in death by his mother, Maria Strasser, Ronnie is survived by his three beloved sons: Ronnie, Brandon, and Brian. His legacy lives on through them and through the countless lives he touched with his warmth, humor, and dedication.

At 18, Ronnie began what would become a remarkable 40+-year career in tunnel excavation and construction. His expertise took him across the country, contributing to some of the most challenging and innovative tunneling projects in modern U.S. history. From work near the San Andreas Fault in California to the 240-foot-deep, 54-mile-long Superconducting Super Collider in Waxahachie, Texas, Ronnie brought passion and precision to every endeavor.

As a Chief Senior Inspector, Ronnie played an integral role in shaping the infrastructure of the Dallas–Fort Worth area, contributing to the DART Light Rail system, several DFW Airport expansions, and numerous bridges and roadways throughout the metroplex. Along the way, he built lasting friendships and earned the admiration of colleagues who respected his work ethic and sharp wit.

Outside of work, Ronnie had a deep love for classic cars and motorcycles. He proudly showcased his “SICK72” 1972 Chevy Nova at local car shows and participated in various charity motorcycle events, always happiest with the rumble of an engine and the open road ahead.

A special acknowledgment goes to his dear friend Deidre Kennedy, whose love and support meant so much. The family also extends heartfelt gratitude to Craig and Deidra Alexander — thank you for everything.

Ronnie’s larger than life personality, unapologetic humor, and dedication to his craft, left an indelible mark on all that knew him. Though he has left this world, his memory lives on in the stories we share, the roads he helped build, and the hearts he touched.
