Rosalind Amy Sarradet

Rosalind Amy Sarradet peacefully passed away on October 9, 2023 at the age of 94, at her residence of Encore Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Crowley, Louisiana. Rosalind was a native of Iota, Louisiana and had been a resident of Jennings since 1953. She was a graduate of SLI in business education and was a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, OLHC choir, Catholic Daughters of America, and a distinguished lector for OLHC. She touched the lives of so many students who had the privilege to pass through her classroom and enjoyed corresponding with them about their successes in life.
Rosalind loved baking her famous coconut and pineapple cakes for friends and family, summer vacations in Arkansas, flower gardening, reading and Sudoku. She also loved her evenings with Jerry and other couples for occasional Supper Club and dance lessons. She was a proud member of the Coffee Club that she co-founded to be able to enjoy time with ladies without their children once a month. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her husband and four children. She will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and smile.
She is survived by her children, Susan Bergeaux (Gerald) of Evangeline, Randy Sarradet (Stacy) of Kingwood, Texas, Cherie Stanley (Robert) of Iota, and Matt Sarradet (Jill) of Jennings. Her grandchildren Christie Deville, Steffan Deville, Brennan Stanley (Allison), Stratton Sarradet, and great grandchildren, Summit, Sol, Sarah, Philip Fredenburg, and Kalijah John Robert Perry.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Gerald Joseph Sarradet, her parents Philip and Lula Bourgeois Amy, her brother, Philip Amy, Jr., and her sisters Thelma Amy and Carolyn Amy McPherson.
Pallbearers will be Randy Sarradet, Matt Sarradet, Robert Stanley, Brennan Stanley, Gerald Bergeaux, Steffan Deville and Philip Amy III. Honorary Pallbearer will be Stratton Sarradet.
The family would like to thank her previous caregivers, doctors and staff at Encore Healthcare & Rehabilitation for their care and compassion.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 14 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings. The Very Reverend Keith Pellerin will officiate with concelebrants Rev. Charles McMillin and Reverend Whitney Miller, Ph.D., LPC. Music will be celebrated under the direction of Sister Camille Martinez, SEC.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, Louisiana on Friday, October 13 from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 14 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Iota, Louisiana under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home.
