Rose Bakaysa Obituary

Published by Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill on Apr. 14, 2015.
Rose A. (Troy) Bakaysa, 92, of Plainville, entered into eternal peace at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Rose was the devoted wife of the late John Bakaysa to whom she was married for 37 years. Born in New Britain on May 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Filomina (Montanile) Troy. Rose was a resident of Plainville for over 60 years and was employed at Johnson & Johnson Critikon for over 20 years before retiring. Rose is survived by her sister-in-law MaryAnn Troy, wife of her late brother Joseph Troy who was most dear to her. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her immensely. Rose was greatly blessed by her Lord and was in every sense a very caring and giving person. She was known for baking her trays of the most amazing homemade Italian cookies. She especially enjoyed the time spent at family holidays, summer barbeques, taking rides to the shore and dining out. Word puzzles, watching game shows and reading were some of her favorite hobbies. Rose has given all of us many special memories which we will always cherish and we will keep her forever in our hearts. Her funeral service will begin on Wednesday, April 22 at 9:00 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, New Britain. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose's memory may be made to St. Ann's Church 47 Clark Street, New Britain, Ct. 06051.
