Rose Breidenbach Obituary

Rose Marie Breidenbach, of Mahopac, NY, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on September 23, 1942, in Bronx, New York, Rose was a strong, dedicated woman who touched many lives with her compassion for others.
Rose Marie dedicated her professional life to helping others as an Administrator at Community Based Services. Her commitment to adults with special needs was not just a job but a calling.
An animal lover at her core, Rose Marie found joy in the company of many furry friends throughout her life. She was an avid reader, finding solace in the quiet moments spent with a good novel.
Above all, Rose Marie's heart belonged to her beloved husband, Charlie. Their love story began at St. Mary's Church in Mount Vernon, NY, where they were united in marriage on June 11, 1960. For fifty-seven years, they shared a love that was deep and true. Charlie was her rock, her partner in every sense, and her greatest joy. His passing in 2017 left a void in her life, but she carried their shared memories with grace and gratitude.
She is survived by her children Francine Garland(Raymond), Charles(Kathryn), Thomas(Kim), and Michael(Nicole); her siblings Francesca Steinberger, Warren Bornholz, and Michael and Louis Russo; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Larry Bornholz and her husband Charlie.
All are welcome to attend a visitation on Tuesday, November 18th from 3-7PM at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 19th at 10AM at St. John The Evangelist Church, also in Mahopac. Interment will follow at Union Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in her name to the Putnam Humane Society, www.puthumane.org.
