Rose Marie (Linzmeier) Bubolz, age 85, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on April 24, 2023 with her family by her side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Alan Guanella will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Tuesday at the church.
Rose was born on January 13, 1938 in Marshfield, the daughter of Ulrich and Bernice (Hoffman) Linzmeier. She attended eight grades of school at Stepping Stone School in Milladore, and graduated Auburndale High School in 1956, where she was active in band, glee club, and FHA. After high school Rose attended St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Marshfield and earned her RN in 1959. Rose married David Bubolz September 17, 1960 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore.
Rose worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield 1959-1960, before moving to Ripon with her husband Dave. There she worked at Ripon Memorial Hospital in 1960-1969 until returning to central Wisconsin. Rose continued her nursing career at Riverview Hospital 1969-1972, and retired from Georgia Pacific (formerly known as Nekoosa Papers) in 1993 after 21 years as an occupational nurse. Rose also volunteered her time as the on-site registered nurse at the Little Britches Rodeos held in Kellner.
Rose was a member of the Jayco Camping Club, St. Alexanders Catholic Church, St. Alexanders Women's Club, and St. Mary's Catholic Church. She spent many years as a member of the Jolly 8 Polka Band (interesting fact Rose and her husband Dave won a Polka dance contest in 1961 for their skillful art of the polish hop). She loved to travel (enjoying many adventures with her husband Dave), playing bingo, completing puzzles, crocheting, and cooking for family.
Rose was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed the blessings of her life. Her grandchildren were very important to Rose, she knit Afghan blankets for each grandchild and spent many years collecting commemorative quarters and half-dollars for them. Rose loved baking and spent many Christmas holidays making cookies and desserts to share with her children and grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her children, David Lee Bubolz, Kathleen (David) Alft, Michael Bubolz, Jean (Tom) Biel, and Patricia Bubolz; daughter-in-law Cyndi Bubolz; grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon) Holtz, Justus (Ashley) Arendt, Dennis Bubolz Jr, Sabrina Biel, Allison Alft, Emily Bubolz, Shelby (Ty) Bernarde, Jacob Biel, Nick Bubolz, Colton Bubolz, Skylar Westrum, and Tucker Westrum; great-grandchildren Liam Biel-Biesek, Violet Bernarde, Tyson Holtz, Bruce Biel-Young, Elle Holtz, Colt Holtz, Valerie Bernarde; siblings Leonard (Betty) Linzmeier, Carol Wiskerchen and James Linzmeier; brother-in-laws Norman (Elaine) Bubolz and Orville (Linda) Bubolz; sister-in-law Anna Binger; and many extended family and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Dennis James Bubolz, parents-in-law Norman and Lucille Bubolz, sister-in-laws Lois Peplinski and Luann Bubolz, and brother-in-laws Bill Binger, Clarence Peplinski, Ed Wiskerchen, and Donald Bubolz.
