Rose Amanda Collins, of Mineral Point, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Washington County Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. Rose was born on June 12, 1944, in Potosi, Missouri, a beloved daughter of the late William J. Politte and Lula Ellen (Medley) Politte.
On February 1, 1978, Rose was united in marriage to William “Bill” Collins, and together they built a wonderful and loving family. Throughout her life, Rose’s family was always her number one priority. She cherished every moment spent with them, especially her children and grandchildren. Family dinners, holiday gatherings, and simply being surrounded by those she loved brought her tremendous joy.
Rose had many enjoyments in life, including playing bingo, watching westerns—especially those featuring Matt Dillon—tuning into her favorite game shows. She loved having a good time and was known for her fun personality. Rose was always joking, laughing, and lifting the spirits of her family and friends. Above all, Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She cared deeply for her family and showed her love through countless acts of kindness, support, and sacrifice. Her warm heart, humor, and generosity will be remembered forever.
Rose leaves behind her eight children: Terry Collins, Jim (Wendy) Politte, Tom (Brenda) Collins, John (Linda) Politte, Cindy (Harold) Walls, Dart (James) Cain, Ruth Ann Politte, and Charlie Collins (Shanah). She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition, Rose is survived by her three siblings: William “Buck” (Laveda) Politte, Rita Hedrick, and Glenda (Gary) Dean.
