Mother Rose L. Hackworth was born May 15, 1928, in Shiloh, Alabama to the union of Reverend Joe Agee and Mother Carrie Agee, she was the third daughter to be born out of twelve siblings in this union.
On December 3rd, 2024, at the blessed age of 96, God embraced her in his arms of eternal life.
Mother Rose and her husband Sylvester celebrated 50 years of a unconditional commitment to one another. She was the love of his life, faith and family was the center piece for there lives. They were devoted members of Roberts Temple, and Unity COGIC. Mo. Rose also served at Holy Temple COGIC. Mo. Rose next chapter in life was to help her son-in-law Gregory L. Gary when he became a pastor. As one of the devoted members of New Beginnings UWC, Mo. Rose Hackworth was a faithful member, even with some health issues, she would have family tune in so she could enjoy the services. Mo. Rose also enjoyed Praising God with Jimmy Swaggert, and other television ministries. Desiring to worship and basking the presence of God multiple times a day. Quoting scriptures and rejoicing in the Lord was her joy. Mo. Hackworth was a true solider for the Lord until God called her home.
Rose worked at Elkhart Rehab, and Fountain View nursing home for 25 years. A genuine compassion for elderly. Mo. and Deacon also fostered children for about 20 years, they had a heart of love and caring for people. Mo. Rose was a enjoyed working in the church, working in several capacities within the church. Serving as a church mother, district missionary, adult Sunday school teacher, youth director, kitchen committee, church cleaning, choir member, whatever her hands found to do, she did it.
Mo. Rose was joined in holy matrimony to Sylvester Hackworth May 1945. Mother Rose and her husband Sylvester celebrated 50 years of an unconditional commitment to one another. She was the love of his life, faith and family was the center piece for their lives. From there union children born was Donald S. Hackworth (Ernestine) of Elkhart IN, Roger L. Hackworth (Marsha) of San Diego CA, Syleast Nderitu (Dadson) of Elkhart IN, Dennise Gary (Gregory) of Elkhart IN, and David Warner of Phoenix AZ. Her grandchildren Sheila Hackworth, April, Donnie, Jermel, Tiffany, Anthony Hackworth's, Teirre Caldwell, Shana Barkus, Martes, Shawntes, Dairese Gary's. Mo. also has 14 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and family and friends. Mo. Rose has one living sibling Virgie Green of Atlanta, GA.
Preceding her in death her husband Sylvester Hackworth, parents Mo. Carrie Agee, Joe Agee, siblings Willie Gray Agee, Evelyn Holloman, Josie Ree Treadwell, Geneva Gordon Catherine Williams, Carrie Knight, Asaline Johnson, Grace McWorther, Joe Jr. Agee, and Tommy Agee.

Dear Mrs. Rose Hackworth sharing your 89th birthday with you and the family was and will always be one of many wonderful memories for me.
To share your favorite color green and to see how you enjoyed the money tree Roger and I made for you. And especially for being there for our wedding day. You are so loved. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life and family. Sharing that love will be with me forever my beautiful mother in law . Blessings to your family and my husband Roger Lee Hackworth . I will always remember how kind she was when we first met over 40 years ago when I made my first trip to Elkhart. She immediately welcomed me with open arms. Miss Hackworth was a good example of how a mother, and a mother in-law should be.
My condolences and prayers to the Hackworth family and all that loved her.
