Rose Willis Hyatt, 93, of Chesapeake was called to rest in eternal peace on July 27, 2025 and is now in the loving embrace of God and Jesus. Rose spent her final days with her family. She was born in Suffolk, VA and was preceded in death by her parents H.G. and Amelia Stone Willis and husband Thurman E. Hyatt.
After graduating from Suffolk High School, she went on to attend Richmond Professional Institute and graduated from Riverside Nursing School. Rose devoted her life to caring for others, working in several hospitals in the Hampton Roads area and retired as a school nurse from Suffolk Public Schools. She was also a longtime member of the Churchland Women's Club and Jolliff United Methodist Church.
Rose was deeply loved and admired by her son Kenneth Hyatt of Carrollton, daughter and son in law Sharon and Jeff Evans and grandchildren Chance Evans, Lucas Hyatt and Naomi Rose Evans, who are left to cherish her memory. The family would like to thank her caregivers Kenza, Jeanetta and Dianah for their dedication, love and support.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suffolk, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jolliff UMC Building Fund, 1900 Jolliff Road, Chesapeake, VA 23321. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
