Rose Longazo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Southern Utah Mortuary - Cedar City on Mar. 14, 2026.
Rose Marie Longazo (born Williams), 86, of Cedar City, Utah peacefully passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. She was born November 16, 1939 in her grandparents' home, located in Airmount, Mississippi (East of Coffeeville), to James L. and Viola, L. (born Vickery) Williams. She was the second of four children and the only girl. In 1956, at the age of 16, she married the love of her life Robert LeRoy Longazo. They were married for 69 years.

Her father was a U.S. Navy veteran and survivor of Pearl Harbor in WWII. Her family moved around a lot due to her father's navy career. In her early childhood years, she was raised in Coffeeville, Mississippi, where she has deep family roots. After WWII her family was assigned to California. It was here at the age of seven, where she began attending church with her brother at a local Methodist Church. After her father completed military assignments in Virginia and Florida, the family moved back to California and settled in Long Beach, where she started Jr. high school.

She is the mother of seven children, who all lived in Huntington Beach, California in a small three-bedroom home. About a year and half after the birth of the seventh child, the family later moved and settled into a larger home in Norco, California. She was a working mother, who helped to pay the bills for her large family. She worked as quality control inspector on microchips for Microsemi Corp., located in Santa Ana for 13 years. She also owned and managed a 7-11 store in Norco, California. She was very kind and often would open her home to those who needed a place to stay.

Marie liked to read church history and biographies. She kept up with the world news. As a young girl she enjoyed reading house plans and decorating; an enjoyment that endured throughout her life. She also enjoyed history and travel.

She is survived by six children: Debbie L. Fuller of Cedar City, Linda M. (Ralph D.) Hernandez of Redding, California, R. Michael Longazo of Corona, California, Ronald R. (Debra A.) Longazo of Corona, California, Teresa G. (Martin W.) Jiles of Trinidad, Colorado, and Steven J. (Taralyn) Longazo of North Salt Lake. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Pamela A. Longazo, and son-in-law, Benjamin R. Fuller.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Southern Utah Mortuary in Cedar City, Utah (190 N. 300 W.). The viewing will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
