Rose Marie McGlothlin

Rose Marie McGlothlin, age 93 of Tazewell, Virginia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, laughter, and service. Born on May 2, 1933, in Tazewell, she was the daughter of the late Augustus "Gus" Asbury and Clara Tibbs Asbury.

Rose was a proud graduate of Tazewell High School. A woman of unwavering faith and a lifelong Christian, she was a dedicated member of the Tazewell Presbyterian Church, where her strong belief in God guided her every action. She was known for her generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand and give to those in need.

Throughout her vibrant career as a hotel concierge for the Sheraton and Holiday Inn, Rose's outgoing personality and wit allowed her to meet many famous figures. She was a world traveler who loved exploring new places, yet she was most at home in her garden or kitchen. Her flower beds were a point of pride, and her cooking was a source of comfort for many. Outspoken and spirited, Rose was a nurturing force in her family and a loyal friend.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dallas McGlothlin Sr.; her sister, Francis Graham; and her brother, Peery Asbury.

She is survived by her only child and beloved son, Dallas McGlothlin Jr., who was the light of her life.

She is also survived by many close friends, neighbors, and her church community.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Tazewell Presbyterian Church to honor Rose's lifelong commitment to her faith.
