Rosella L. Johnson, 93, of Tunkhannock passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Allied Services Hospice, Scranton. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Arthur Johnson in 2013.
Born on January 22, 1931 in Tunkhannock, she is the daughter of the late Joesph and Emma (Durling) Yurksza.
Rose devoted much her working life to the dress industry, beginning her career at Rowker dress factory and later contributing her skills to Bocar dress factory in Tunkhannock.
She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and found immense joy in caring for her children and grandchildren. Her love for cooking was well-known among her loved ones, and many cherished the meals she prepared with care and affection.
Rose was also a proud member of the Tunkhannock Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Kathleen Johnson; brothers, Jim Yurksza, Joseph Yurksza and wife Charlene; grandchildren, Arthur A. Johnson, Jr. and Kimberly Johnson Brown; great-grandchildren, Katherine Rose Johnson, Connor, Jordan, Cameron Brown, Kyle Johnson; nephew, Joseph Yurksza.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by sons, Arthur A. and Donald W. Johnson; sisters, Arcilla and Betty Jo Yurksza; brother, Bob Yurksza.
Family and friends are invited to attend Rosella's funeral service which will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 12:30 PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 with Reverend Rick Womer officiating. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
