Rosemarie Jeannette (Daigle) Ross, 78, a longtime resident of Methuen, passed away peacefully surrounded by her three children on Thursday, November 6 from complications of Parkinson's disease. Born and raised in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lucille Daigle, and was a graduate of Catherine Labouré School of Nursing. She began her career at Massachusetts General Hospital before spending the majority of her 40-year nursing career in the operating room at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell. Dedicated, skilled, and deeply compassionate, she was a nurse at heart in every sense - caring for her patients, colleagues, friends, and neighbors with warmth, humor, and grace.
A long-time Methuen resident, Rosemarie was married for 43 years to her beloved husband, John R. Ross, who predeceased her in 2016. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She cherished her family above all else and took great pride in her children and grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
Outside of her nursing career, she was known for her zest for life and her ability to bring people together. She had countless loyal friends and loved to travel - especially to Aruba, Orlando, and the Caribbean. An avid reader with an endless curiosity, she enjoyed everything from true crime to romance novels. In her younger years, Rosemarie enjoyed skiing, racquetball, and dancing - starting with line dancing and eventually becoming an accomplished ballroom dancer who won many local awards.
Rosemarie was a creative spirit who loved spending time crafting, scrapbooking, and making beautiful handmade cards for the people she loved. She was always up for a competitive game of 45s or dominoes with friends and family, where laughter and friendly rivalry always filled the room.
She cherished time spent hosting gatherings at her beach house, bringing people together with laughter, warmth, and unforgettable stories. She approached life with optimism, humor, and kindness, always looking on the bright side and offering support to those around her. Even as she faced the challenges of Parkinson's disease, she met them with the same determination and strength that defined her life.
She will be remembered for her infectious smile, her generous spirit, and her unwavering love for family and friends.
Surviving her are her children Michelle Marie Eld and her husband Reginald Eld of Dracut MA; Mark Christopher Ross and wife Lindsay Ross of Londonderry NH; Melanie Lynn Martel and husband Mark Martel of Groton MA; and six grandchildren Tyler, Dylan, AnaRose, Ella, Jack, and Hazel. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Gloria Ross of Nashua NH and Carol Daigle of Methuen MA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents Edward and Lucille Daigle and her brother Robert Daigle.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Rosemarie's name to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA).
