Roslyn Hudson Obituary

Mrs. Hudson was born February 21, 1942 in Union Point, GA, the daughter of Melvin Swann and Leila Ogletree Swann. After graduating from Union Point High School in 1960, Mrs. Hudson moved to Atlanta, GA, where over the next few years she worked for several area banks. In 1965, she met Franklin D. Hudson and the two were married the following year. In 1969, the couple moved to Columbus, GA, and later, Harris County, where they raised two sons. After a number of years as a stay at home mom, Mrs. Hudson joined the workforce again in 1982, when she began working for the Atlanta Postal Credit Union, formally Members Alliance. She retired as a Senior Loan Officer after thirty years' service.
Since 1994, Mrs. Hudson was a very active member of Mulberry Grove Chapel. She was especially dedicated to cooking and serving food at church dinners. In addition, she enjoyed fishing, family gatherings and flower gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Bobby Swann, Albert Swann and his wife Barbara; and a sister, Margaret Coile and her husband Billy.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin D. Hudson of Fortson, GA; two sons, Trevor Hudson (Beth), and Des Hudson (Lori) all of Cataula, GA; grandchildren, Clay, Claire and Russell; a sister and brother-in-law, Catherine Kessler (Sam) of Philadelphia, PA; a sister-in-law, Virginia Swann of Union Point, GA; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Hudson of Pineview, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Mulberry Grove Chapel (formerly Bigham Chapel Methodist Church), 224 Fortson Road, Fortson, GA 31808, with Rev. Steven Waite officiating. The family will receive friends prior to and immediately following the service at the church.
