A celebration of life for Roy Gene Bentley will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the United Pentecostal Church of Okemah with Rev. David Shatwell officiating.
Roy Gene Bentley was born November 6, 1959 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Leland Eugene Bentley and Dolly Mae (Meyers) Bentley. He passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 61.
Roy was a longtime resident of Okemah and a 1978 graduate of Okemah High School. He later attended Oklahoma Baptist University before graduating in 1982 from Seminole State College with an associate's degree in nursing. On January 8, 1982, in Okemah, Oklahoma, he and Tammie Stacy were married. Roy enjoyed woodworking, cooking and photography.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kyle.
He is survived by his wife, Tammie of the home; two sons, Roy and wife Tabby of Okemah and Shawn and wife Rachel of Okemah; one brother, Ted and wife Rita of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Kathy Carpenter and husband Rick of Cromwell and grandchildren, Joe, Elora, Justin, Maddy, Taleigha, Cadaence, Teaira, Shawn-Anthony, Taylor, Tessa, Alex and Talynn.
All arrangements are being handled by Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.

Roy was a very nice guy. I worked at an icf/mr facility where he was the executive director. He had a good sense of humor. He always asked how my daughter was when i went to slee her.
