Roy Lee Dennis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, in Roseville, CA, at the age of 89. Born on December 20, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, Roy lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to his family and community.
As a young man, Roy had a passion for adventure, often riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle through the open roads. Those early days of freedom and exploration stayed with him, shaping his zest for life and appreciation for the simple joys.
A skilled and hardworking painting contractor by trade, Roy was well-respected for his craftsmanship and unwavering work ethic. Beyond his work, he found joy in fellowship and was deeply devoted to the SDA church, where he formed many cherished relationships that enriched his life.
Roy was the beloved husband of Janet Dennis, with whom he shared a beautiful life and family. He is survived by his children: Virginia Moullet née Dennis (Daniel Moullet) and their children, Noah and Rebekah; Michael Dennis (Kristina née Battaglia) and their children, Everett, Ethan, and Emilia; and Alexander Dennis (Kimberly née Pulliam) and their children, Lily and Zoey. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother, Robert Dennis and his children, as well as by Jaime and Teresa Hoerricks and their children, Zachary, Aislinn, Max, Sam, Angus, and Alistair.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Ward Dennis and Lillian Virginia Dennis (née Oliver), as well as by his sister-in-law, Maureen Dennis, (née O'Halloran).
Roy will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his kind nature, his steadfast faith, and his love for family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and devotion that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
His love, laughter, and unwavering faith will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Roy's name to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA).
