Roy James Keller, 78, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025.
Born September 13, 1947, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he was a graduate of Catholic High School and Louisiana State University. Following graduation from LSU, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He went on to have a distinguished career at LSU for 32 years, working to support entrepreneurs and companies in the small business incubator and technology transfer programs.
Roy is survived by his two sons, Jason Grady Keller and Jarrett Scott Keller and wife Sarah Gaar Keller; and grandsons Hudson Grady Keller, Ethan Nobel Keller, and Owen Gaar Keller. He is also survived by his siblings Joseph Keller and wife Brenda, Anne Keller Kleinpeter and husband Steve, Elizabeth Keller MacConnell and husband David, and Patrick Keller. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Barbara Gaddy Keller; parents Nolan Joseph Keller, Sr. and Cora Catherine Keller; and brothers Nolan Joseph Keller Jr. and John Bart Keller.
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of both Roy and Barbara Keller will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Resthaven Chapel of Eternal Faith, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of the Animals of Baton Rouge (FOTA), P.O. Box 14871, Baton Rouge LA 70898 or the charity of your choice.
