Roy Gene Moody, 68, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on May 29, 2025. Roy was born on October 21, 1956, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to A.C. Moody and Joyce Martin (née Howard), who both preceded him in death. He spent his early childhood in Carlsbad before moving to Mena, where he spent the rest of his life. An entrepreneur with a creative and determined spirit, Roy owned and operated several businesses over the years, including a maintenance and janitorial company, Lost in the 50's Pawn and Gun, and most recently, he lovingly restored the historic Coast to Coast building on Mena Street. His vision was to open a Lum & Abner-themed coffee and sandwich shop and museum-an expression of his love for antiques, storytelling, and local culture. Roy had a deep appreciation for antiques, especially vintage cars and motorcycles. He proudly owned the largest collection of Cushman motorcycles in the state of Arkansas and enjoyed restoring and sharing them with others. He is survived by his two children: Josh Moody and wife Jamie of Conway, Arkansas, and Natosha Williams and husband Kenny of Mena, Arkansas; and six grandchildren: Chad, Rachel, Levi, Kyle, Anthony, and Krislinn. He is also survived by his brother, Cary Moody of Mena. Roy will be remembered for his entrepreneurial drive and deep love for family and his community. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd at 10:00 AM at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
