Roy has been welcomed into the arms of our Lord Jesus in heaven free of all pain and suffering. He was born to Earnest Olin Rumfield and Jessie Leona Rumfield. Roy graduated from Twin High School in 1952. A year later he married his high school sweetheart, Waukera Reaster on May 9, 1953 in Spargursville, Ohio. Roy joined the Navy in 1957 and was stationed in San Francisco. Once Roy was out of the Navy they decided to move back to their home state, Ohio and worked for Mead Paper Mill. On April 12, 1968 they ended up moving to Houston, Texas. Roy began working for Southland Paper Mill. Roy was an avid runner but also loved coaching and umpiring baseball games. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and had a passion for country and Gospel music and Elvis. They both especially loved travelling to Vegas to watch Elvis in his live shows. Roy was always known for his great sense of humor and his ability to never meet a stranger. One of his greatest characteristics was his ability to share kindness to others. He will be deeply missed, but leaves behind so many found memories with those that were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Jessie Rumfield; loving wife of 62 years, Waukera Rumfield; daughter, Valerie J. Posey; son-in-law David Posey; sister, Mildred Ann Rumfield; and brothers, James Alfred Rumfield and Ernest Olin Rumfield. He is survived by son, Mark A. 2 Timothy 4:7-8: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
