Roy D. Stratton, Jr., 62, of Upton, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 3, 2025, following a long illness.
Born on October 30, 1962, in Framingham, he was the son of the late Roy Sr. and Mertice (MacKay) Stratton.
Raised in Hopkinton, “Chip” was a proud alumnus of Keefe Regional Technical School in Framingham, class of 1981, where he developed the foundational skills that would guide him through a successful career as a Logistics Manager for IEP Technologies in Marlborough. Prior to that position, he worked for Kidde-Fenwal in Ashland for 35yrs.
Roy had a passion for life, which was reflected in his enjoyment of riding his Harley Davidson and spending treasured time in Cape Cod and Rhode Island.
He held dear the moments shared with family and friends, creating lasting memories that enriched his life. His favorite pastimes, since childhood, included fishing at Lake Whitehall, riding his dirt bikes and snowmobiles, and enjoying the solitude of Upton State Forest.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Victoria Stratton and her partner, SSG Thomas Beebe of Worcester; his sisters, Janis Bunting and her husband Charles of Charlton, and Susan George and her husband Philip of Upton; as well as his nephew, Bryan Ordway of Upton, and several cousins with whom he was very close. He also leaves his cherished significant other, Holly Parkin of Plainfield, CT, who became his caretaker in his final months.
