When I think of Roy Unger I think of a pasture of old pickups and cars, boots on fence poles, hanging by my belt loop in his dairy barn, a handy set of pliers hanging from his belt, Jesus-Mary and Joseph when he felt a little perturbed, a crooked smile, black cherry tobacco aroma floating gently by, a little gift on my birthday when I was young, cheese and crackers be muttered when it mattered, goats on buildings and good times when 8-10 cousins were all crowded into a couple wayward rooms during parents cards games. Roy always smiled when he asked what I was up to, mostly because he already had the gossip from the coffee shop. Rest in peace Roy!
