I first met Roy when we both moved into McKee Hall at Penn State as we began our freshman year and we became close friends from that day in 1954 until his passing. Roy introduced me to the Brothers at Pi Kappa Alpha and we both pledged Pike that year. Over the years, we visited each other both in Pittsburgh and Denver and I also spent some quality time with Roy and Suzanne in Riverton, NJ. I will always remember Roy as an extremely talented architect and artist, with a charismatic personality, gifted sailor, solid friend and a distain for computers! I recall several years ago, when Roy invited me to stay at their home in Riverton, and the last time we were together, with so much to discuss, we shared an entire bottle of a fine Single Malt Scotch until the early hours of the morning. And, on occasion, Roy would celebrate Ground Hog Day along with his near-by birthday. I only attended one of those events, but tried to recognize "Punxsutawney Phil" each year with a note to Roy in remembrance.
One of my favorite friends of all time, Roy will be sadly missed by me and so many others who were honored to call him "friend"! All the best, Brother, rest in peace. Dick Hufnagel, Denver
