Roy Curtis Westerfield, 81, of Utica passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, at home under the care of Hospice of Ohio County. The Daviess County native was born April 16, 1943, to the late Onel Otto Westerfield and Stacy Nash Westerfield. Roy graduated from Ohio High School, class of 1961. He was a carpenter by trade but also farmed and raised livestock. Roy loved mowing with his John Deere lawn mower and feeding his cows and chickens. He also enjoyed watching his son, Bobby, race.
In addition to his parents, Roy also was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Joyce Ann Horton Westerfield in 2022 and his sister, Regina Faye Hite.
Survivors include his four sons, Tony Dale Westerfield (Tina), Barry Wayne "Sam" Westerfield (Linda), Bobby Gene Westerfield (Candy) and Terry Lynn Westerfield, all of Utica; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
No public visitation or services will be held. Care by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
