Ruben Gonzales

Obituary
Ruben Gonzales, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on June 20, 2023, at the age of 68. He was born on August 17, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, to Tomas B. Gonzales and Hortense V. Gonzales.
Ruben spent his early childhood in Wilmer Hutchins before moving to West Dallas. He pursued a profession in welding at a young age and was employed by Williams & Davis Boilers for 35 years until his retirement in 2009.
Ruben was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on his Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
Ruben leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his loving wife, Henrietta (Keta), who stood by his side throughout their beautiful 17 year journey together and whom he loved deeply. His daughter, Feliz, and her husband, Paul Yarmer. Ruben was a doting grandfather to his granddaughters, Emily and Olivia Yarmer, whose laughter brought him immense happiness.
He is also survived by his brother, Arthur Gonzales, and his wife, Adelina. Ruben's sisters, Yolanda Gonzales and Linda Gonzales. Nephews, Danny, Ronney, Tomas, and Arthur Jr. Nieces, Lisa, Della, Jennifer, Monica, Andrea, Sonya, Veronica, and Adriana. He held a special place in his heart for his siblings and nephews and nieces and their cherished memories will forever be treasured.
Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Hortense V. Gonzales and Tomas B. Gonzales, as well as his brother Rico Gonzales. He also mourned the loss of his beloved wife, Diane Gonzales, and their son, Ruben Gonzales, whose memory he held dear. The passing of his baby grandson Zachary Yarmer, broke his heart.
Ruben will be remembered as a family man and a hard worker. His wonderful smile, playful banter, and sense of humor, will be deeply missed. We know that he has found eternal rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior and while we mourn his loss here on this earth, we believe that by the grace of God and by the salvation of Jesus Christ we will be reunited with him one day.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Ruben Gonzales's life will be held at Chism-Smith Funeral Home on June 26th at 2:30 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects.
