He is preceded in death by his Mother: Ernestina Ochoa; Grandmother: Pauline Anchondo; Brother: Johnny Guzman and Nephew: Cruz Patino III:; Ruben is survived by his Dad: Ruben Guzman Sr. ; Sisters: Frances Guzman (Allan Monge) and Ernestina Guzman; Brothers; Paul Guzman, Billy Guzman and Carlos Guzman.
