Ruby Joyce Gibson

 

Ruby Joyce Gibson, age 84, of Goshen, OH departed this life on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Loveland Healthcare Center. She was born on August 31, 1938, in London, KY to the late Felix Philpot and the late Florence (Hubbard) Philpot. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Gibson, and her son, Michael Gibson.

 

Ruby is survived by her son, Jeffery (Becky) Gibson, daughter-in-law Phyllis Gibson, brother Ricky (Sharon) Philpot, three granddaughters - Jennifer Newman, Jessica (Cody) Holtzclaw and Savannah (Poppeye) Nthenge.  She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Ruby loved the Lord and during her lifetime attended Fellowship Tabernacle in Carthage, Ohio, Pewitts Chapel and Franklin Community Church of the Nazarene in Franklin, Tennessee and Bible Baptist of Goshen, Ohio. 

 

 
Ruby and Fred owned and operated Tri-County Taxi and Package Express in Springdale, Ohio, for many years; as well as her time of employment as secretary to the President of XTEX in Elmwood Place. However all throughout her life Ruby’s greatest accomplishments were as a wife, mom, mother-in-law,grandmother and great grandmother.  She loved well and was well loved.

 

Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM– 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine Street, Carthage, OH, 45216.  The memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM directly following the visitation.

  

The burial service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Glendale, OH, 45246 following the memorial service.
