Ruby Hammond

Ruby Hammond, 94, beloved wife of the late Marion Thaymer Hammond, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Born in Pickens, SC, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Lucy Barnes Holder.
Ruby was a proud, active member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church since the early 1950s. She loved cooking and spending time with her family. Ruby was a devout woman of God who treasured her family and friends immensely. She was married for almost 73 years to the love of her life, Marion, and was a proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
Left to treasure her memories are her sons, Terry Hammond and wife, Rita and Dr. Barry Hammond and wife, Tina; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven siblings.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel.
