Ruby Bowers James, 85, went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2024 following a lengthy illness. Ruby was a sweet, humble servant of Christ and served Him joyfully. Ruby was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church in Rosemark,
Ruby was the daughter of the late John Alexander and Flossie Turnage Bowers. She grew up in Randolph and graduated from Munford High School.
Ruby married the love of her life, Nicky James, on September 19, 1958. Ruby and Nicky served the Lord together faithfully and were always together. They never left each other's side.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, she leaves her son, Johnny (Judy) James of Rosemark and her daughter, Tammy (Sambo) Sampson of Brighton; five grandchildren, Brittney (Trey) Owen of Randolph, Chance (Laurel) Sampson of Brighton, Nick (Alex) James of Munford, Zack James and Tucker James, both of Rosemark; three precious great grandchildren, Abbie Mae Owen, McCallie Kate Sampson and Jerry Allen Owen, IV. and three siblings, Joyce McLennan, Martha Cates and Ronald Bowers, all of whom she loved dearly as well. She loved her family so much!
She was preceded in death by her parents, two loving sisters, Ada Fletcher and Norma Glass and two loving brothers, Donald Bowers and John Martin Bowers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 19 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Morrison's Memorial Cemetery in Brighton. Reverend Cary Vaughn will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family requests that donations be made to the Community Baptist Church, 9524 Austin Peay Hwy, Millington, TN 38053
