Rudolf Albert "Rudy" Navarette, 77, of Lovington, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Rudy was born on September 10, 1948, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Eliberto Uribe Navarette and Mary Lovis Navarette.
He grew up in Carlsbad and graduated from Carlsbad High School with the Class of 1967. That same year, Rudy proudly entered the United States Army, serving in the Army Signal Corps-a division known for its technical expertise and high standards. During his service in Korea, he was part of the team that helped establish the Armed Forces Network in Seoul, a project that connected American service members overseas with news and entertainment from home. He served his country honorably until his discharge in April 1971.
Upon returning home, Rudy married the love of his life, Connie Jean Burton, on March 29, 1972. Together, they built a life grounded in love, family, and faith. Shortly after their marriage, Rudy began a long and dedicated career with Southwestern Public Service Company (SPS), which later became Xcel Energy. He worked as a Plant Technician until his retirement after 40 years of loyal service.
Rudy was a man of quiet strength, humility, and unwavering integrity. He took great pride in his work, his service, and most of all, his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, always offering a kind word, a warm smile, or a helping hand. His sense of humor, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years: Connie Jean Burton Navarette. His children: Erik M. Navarette and wife DeLynda Navarette, Nicholas A. Navarette, and fiancée Brittany Frey; and Pamela M.
