Russell C Amidon, age 74, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Russell was born on October 24, 1950, in Sheldon, IA, the son of the late Richard and Helen Amidon.
Russell graduated from Augusta Military Academy in Fort Defiance in Virginia. Russell went on to become a police officer in Seaford, DE where he served for 17 years, he was also a Delaware State Fire School Instructor for 30 years and was a past member of the Seaford Fire Department. Russell had many hobbies including woodworking, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He was also a member of the Bridgeville Rifle Range where he spent a lot of his free time.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Anne Mulrooney, his son, Clay Amidon (Laura), three grandchildren, Ryan, Ava, and Trent, two stepchildren, David Ingalls (Jess) and Kristin O'Connor (Vince), three step-grandchildren, Harper, Bailey, and Ensley, and his niece, Sarah Conlan (Brian).
Russell is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Helen Amidon, and his sister, Cathy Powell.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Russell's name to Vitas Health Care, 30265 Commerce Drive Suite 202, Millsboro DE, 19966.
Funeral Services will be private.

I am so sorry for your loss; Russel was instrumental in helping me keep retired law enforcement officers certified for their concealed carry permits.

I will miss our many talks about our time at AMA and my always trying to convince him to "gift" me the picture of the AMA Barracks his grandmother crocheted for him years ago.

Russel will be missed.
