Russell F. "Russ" Curtis

Russell F. "Russ" Curtis, age 76, of Harborcreek, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, June 7, 2024. He was born in Erie on April 9, 1948, son of the late Russell A. and Albina Ligocki Curtis.
Russ was a 1966 graduate of Academy High School. He attended ATES Technical School and was employed with General Electric as a Machine Maintenance Tech, retiring after 42 years. Russ was a highly skilled tradesman who was able to fix anything. He enjoyed woodworking and home maintenance. Russ was a down to earth, generous man who found pleasure in helping and teaching others. He loved his family and friends and cherished spending time with them and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. Russ was an active member of St. James R.C. Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered for the festival and other events.
Russ is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ronalee M. Slomski Curtis; four children, Christopher Curtis (Katherine), Scot Curtis (Cheryl), Jason Curtis and Marann Curtis (Ryan Bishop); one brother, David Curtis (Patricia); five grandchildren, Madeline, Monica, Ayden, Rylan and Ava; one daughter-in-law, Kori; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Curtis in 2017.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. James R.C. Church, 2635 Buffalo Rd. on Wednesday, June 12th at 10 AM. Arrangements are being handled by Dusckas Funeral and Cremation Services Harborcreek. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Ministries/Soup Kitchen, 345 East 9th Street, Erie, PA 16503.
