Bristol - Russell D. Born on July 2, 1945, in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late Leon and Mary (Imondi) DeBonis, Russell's early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family and the spirited energy of the post-war era
Russell, known for his quick wit and easy smile, was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. His service in Vietnam was a testament to his bravery and dedication to his country, and although he became disabled during his time in the service, his spirit remained unbroken. He carried the honor of his military experience with him throughout his life, and it shaped the resilient and compassionate man he became.
After his honorable discharge, Russell's love for cars steered him into a community of fellow enthusiasts. His knowledge of automobiles was vast and impressive, contributing to many lively discussions and cherished friendships. Whether it was a classic muscle car or the latest sports model, Russell could speak at length about the inner workings and history of each vehicle, his eyes alight with passion.
Russell's family was the cornerstone of his life. He was the son of the late Leon and Mary DeBonis and the brother of the late Frank L. DeBonis and Carol Frattaroulo. His role as uncle was one he embraced with joy and pride. He leaves behind a loving family, including his nephews Frank DeBonis, David DeBonis, and Vincent Frattaruolo; nieces Lisa Nassi, Lori Arico, and Gina DiPietro; and the late Sandra DeBonis, as well as many great-nieces and nephews who will miss his stories, laughter, and the comfort of his presence.
Russell's life was a reflection of the values he held dear: loyalty, perseverance, and the importance of family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the memories they shared. His passing is not just the loss of a man; it is the loss of a generation's strength and an individual's unique contribution to the fabric of our society.
