Russell passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the age of 47.
Born on June 19, 1976, in Louisville, KY, Russell was the eldest child of Richard and Denise Ford. He was a proud graduate of Butler High School and a dedicated veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a Seabee from 1996 to 2001, receiving an honorable discharge. Russell grew up in Okolona but spent much of his childhood at the French Farm in Rineyville, where he witnessed many memorable moments. One of which he definitely saw Josh run directly into the barbwire fence at the old farm. (No way it was the new farm. Russell was there, he saw it!) A loyal fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys, Russell was beloved for his humor, athletic prowess in his younger days, passion for bourbon, culinary skills, and exceptional hosting abilities. Above all, he was known for his profound love for his family and friends and his unwavering support for those around him.
Russell was predeceased by his daughter, Emma Claire Ford; maternal grandparents, George Denis and Alpha French; paternal grandparents, William and Lenora Ford; Aunts Darlene and Wanda; Uncles Joe and Duane; and his cherished German Shepherd Dogs, Sasha, Rommel, and Roxy.
He is survived by his children, Madeline and Tyler Ford, and their mother, Krista; his parents, Richard and Denise Ford; brothers, Josh (married to Lesa) and Geoff (Krista.... not the same one); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends from Louisville and his time in the Navy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26th, from 2 pm to 8 pm at Ratterman Funeral Home on Bardstown Road. Additional visitation will occur Wednesday, December 27th from 9 am to 11 am at the same location, followed by a service. Burial will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central on Thursday, December 28th at 2 pm.

Russell was one of the kindest and down to earth people I knew. He always would listen and give his best advice on just about any topic. He was always the life of the party and his laugh and smile was infectious. He will always hold a special place in my heart for Russell and I can say my life is a greater place for have Russell in it. Every time I listen tot he Beatie Boys Russell will be with me.

Russell's shinning smile and great sense of humor made our work events so
much fun. He was always upbeat and I looked forward to doing business with Russell. He was such a wonderful and thoughtful host to my wife and I on several visits to Louisville. I hope his family is comforted by the joy and kindness that he brought others. God bless you Russell
