Russell Lee Lord, age 81, passed away January 9, 2024 after losing his wife one month prior. He was welcomed into his family with his identical twin brother Ronald Willard Lord on October 20, 1942 by their parents Issac Willard Lord and Frances Mosel Russell. Six years later he became an older brother to twin siblings Gary and Gwendolyn. He was born in North Island, California and grew up all over the world as a Navy Brat. He attended University of Alaska, Fairbanks and was drafted into the army. He was married to Andrea Louise Maksymowitz March 25, 1967 in South Plainfield, New Jersey and they were sealed together one year later in the Los Angeles, California temple. They have ten wonderful children who they had an abundance of love and respect for. They had twenty beautiful grandchildren and six beautiful great grandchildren.
Russell was a jokester and loved projects. One of his favorite things to do after work was watch TV eating a bag of chips and drinking a Coke. He enjoyed enlisting the help of others and connecting with them through his many adventures. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was always willing to serve. He was very active in Boy Scouts and helping those in his community. He was a caring husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He was loved by many.
A service will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at1:00 PM at Mosdell Mortuary in Kanab, with burial after in the Kanab Utah Cemetery. Military honors at the grave will be by the American Legion Post 69.
Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.
