Ruth Allen Brown, age 92, of Buford, GA, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Douglas Brown, Sr.; parents, Charlie and Lennie Allen; sisters, Dorothy (Hoyt) Pirkle, Gladys (Leon) Kimbro; brothers, L. C. Allen, Milford (Viola) Allen. Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Denise (Tommy) Thompson of Buford, GA; son, Douglas (Jackie) Brown of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Natalie (Daniel) Cooper of Buford, GA, Jessica (Adam) Zappia of Buford, GA, Jenna (Robert) Donar of Buford, GA; eight great-grandchildren, Mary Margaret Cooper, Moseby Cooper, Lawson Cooper, Bonnie Cooper, Devon Donar, Emery Zappia, Beau Zappia, and Ezra Zappia; sister-in-law, Lenora Allen of Flowery Branch, GA; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rennis and Janice Roberts Brown of Newnan, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Brown was born May 1, 1932 in Lawrenceville, GA. She received her education at Dacula High School. Mrs. Brown was a retired School Bus Driver with 37 years of service. She owned and operated Brown Super Ette on Highway 20 in Buford for 30 plus years. Mrs. Brown had been a member of Ivy Creek Baptist since she was 17 years old.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Mr. Dale Jones, and Rev. Chad Roebuck officiating. Interment will follow at Ivy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

I was so sorry to hear about Ruth. She was a special lady......she would have had to be special to drive a bus full of kids for 37 years. She always watched out for my two sons. She even brought one back from school to his grandmother one morning because she said he was sick. A very special lady.
